Armando J. Olivera was named president and chief executive officer of Florida Power & Light Company, one of the largest investor-owned electric utilities in the nation, in 2003. He joined Florida Power & Light in 1972 and, prior to being named to his current role, was senior vice president of Florida Power & Light's power systems business unit. He has also served in several other senior executive positions.
Mr. Olivera is a member of the board and a past chairman of the Florida Reliability Coordinating Council and a member of the board of Enterprise Florida.
Mr. Olivera, 62, has been a director of AGL Resources since December 2011. He was a director of Nicor Inc. from 2008 to 2011.
