Senior Vice President, Governmental and Regulatory Affairs

Bryan Batson was named senior vice president, governmental and regulatory affairs, in February 2009. Primary among his responsibilities is executive oversight and coordination of all governmental and regulatory matters that impact the company’s regulated utilities: Atlanta Gas Light, Elizabethtown Gas, Florida City Gas, Virginia Natural Gas, Chattanooga Gas and Elkton Gas.
Mr. Batson previously served as senior vice president, external affairs, a position he held since 2004. He has 25 years of professional experience with AGL Resources and has held various positions including division engineer, manager of measurement, Augusta division manager, service center manager and vice president, regulatory compliance and affairs.
Mr. Batson previously served as director of state regulatory affairs representing the company before the Georgia Public Service Commission.
He received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Clemson University and is a registered professional engineer. He also holds a master’s degree in technology management from Mercer University.
Mr. Batson has served on a variety of non-profit and industry boards and currently serves on the board of directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Atlanta. He is a member of Leadership Atlanta 2004 and Leadership Georgia 1997.
